finished my second week at lamont! think things are going well but there is still a huge cavern of knowledge untapped. i need to review the basics of geology, physics, and mathematics. maybe read some of the published papers of my phd holdin' coworkers. oh and figure out what i need to know to have a better chance of going to sea.

two days ago i sat next to a man with two thumbs on his right hand. weirdest thing i've seen in quite some time. but i guess with 8million people there's some of everything.

oh and i'm convinced that i have social anxiety disorder or some variation there of. it'd explain a lot.
